Life in Saigon

Big News

When informed that he had gotten a girlfriend pregnant, George pondered for a minute, looking shocked, and then screamed ‘I did it! My boys can swim!’ as he ran down the hall in celebration.

Whilst not quite my reaction, Chi is pregnant (3 months) and before Christmas (last week of November) we’ll have a baby added to the family. As the weeks go by, my anticipation builds. Brief flashes of what awaits come vividly on occasion, leaving a feeling of disbelief mixed with pure adrenalin. What an adventure this will be…

  2. Good luck with it all. And Saigon is a pretty good place to start out with kids… Not quite the same in Europe. At least not until they reach 3 :) Congrats

So are you plan on having the kid in Saigon or back home and try to get the dual-citizenship?

  12. Jon and Chi,
You don’t know me but I came upon your blog while homesick and searching on line for all things Vietnam. I am a Vietnamese born expatriate, living in America, married to an American and now celebrating the joys of 11-month-old twin girls. I have enjoyed your blogs about getting married in Vietnam as it has been interesting to compare my experience of an interracial wedding in America. I have relatives in Saigon and my hubby and I visited for the first (and only)time in summer of 2003. We are certainly itching to go back soon. But in the meantime, your blog has helped. Thanks for writing. Congratulations on your pregnancy…you will have so much fun, as we have with our babies. Best wishes to you both on your new business venture.
